January 2023 Mom of the Month

I am so honored to be Fit4Mom mom of the month!! Joining this group has truly been the best decision for me and my son. I have grown so much in my physical and mental health, I have gained so many wonderful friendships, and I have watched Parker blossom into such a sweet, loving little boy. This village of amazing women just understand each other and are always there to support one another. I leave each class with a heart full of laughter, sunshine and good conversation that help make the rest of my day amazing!

Get to know Elizabeth!

Where are you originally from?

I am originally from North Carolina but have moved multiple times throughout my early childhood years. Living that Army Brat life!

Tell us about your little workout buddy!

My workout buddy is Parker and he is 17 months old! He has such a sweet, adventurous soul and always keeps me on my toes!

How did you meet your husband?

I met my husband at a YMCA. I worked at the front desk while going to college and he came looking for a membership to join the gym and the rest is history!

What’s your favorite family activity?

We love to be outdoors! Hiking, swimming, going for walks with our Golden Retriever, Bear, and just playing/exploring.

Tell us a little about your career—pre or post baby.

Before I had Parker, I taught second grade for 3 years and I absolutely loved it! Now I am a stay at home mom and it’s been my favorite job yet!

How did you find out about FIT4MOM?

We moved to the Crowley-Burleson area in early summer of 2021 and our realtor had mentioned that his daughter-in-law had been attending Fit4Mom and she loved it. It caught my interest and a few months later she reached out to me and told me all about it. I then attended my first class and have been going ever since Parker was 8 months old!!

What is your favorite part about FIT4MOM?

I have so many but I absolutely love that I can workout with so many amazing moms who understand the craziness of motherhood with Parker right by my side.

What has inspired you the most since being a part of FIT4MOM?

The amount of strength radiating through these mamas in this village is truly inspiring! I feel stronger not only physically, but also in my motherhood capabilities after each class.

Do you have any big plans for the upcoming winter season? Nothing really! I love DIY projects so I am hopeful to start on some projects around the house.

What is your proudest moment as a mom? Parker just amazes me everyday with all of the new things he learns and does. He makes me so proud to be his mama!

Have you ever thought, gosh I can’t do this, and what brings you to see the good? Yes, absolutely. Being a mom is hard and can be very isolating and lonely. We all go through different seasons in motherhood, some tougher than others. I am so so grateful for my husband, family, friends and my Fit4Mom family for helping me get through every season of motherhood and to see the good!

How has becoming a mother changed you? Becoming a mom has changed everything about me. I have learned so much patience, I am stronger, and it gave me a true sense of worth and purpose. Being a mom is the greatest gift and I am so thankful for Parker!!

What advice would you give a new mom?

Don’t be so hard on yourself, mama! You are absolutely perfect for your baby(ies) even when you feel like you aren’t doing anything right. We all learn as we go!
